Overview
What to expect
Mtende is a small, sheltered cove on the southern tip of Zanzibar, framed by coral cliffs and rock formations. At high tide the water fills the bay with every shade of turquoise; at low tide you can walk out over the sand.
Swim, take photos from the cliffs and enjoy a cold drink at the beach bar. It pairs perfectly with Jozani Forest, Kuza Cave or a dolphin morning in Kizimkazi.
